My Attitude: I will challenge my current attitudes about school by establishing my goals for success. I will make it a goal to work hard, make no excuses, take the kinds of classes, participate in the kinds of activities and make the kinds of grades that are required for me to graduate and get into a good college.
My Time Commitment: I will prioritize homework (and), create a separate time for studying, and will limit my time with TV, video games and social media to no more than two hours a day during the school week.
My Preparation For School: I will always remember to bring my textbooks and whatever materials are needed for me to participate in the classroom and to study or do homework at home.
My Preparation For School: I will use my phone or calendar to routinely keep track of my assignments and obligations.
My Participation in Class: I will raise my hand whenever I have a question in class, and I will regularly volunteer to participate in class discussion.
My Support System: I will join with fellow students to team up to learn together. If I can’t find an existing group, I will take the steps to put one together.
My Persistence: I will make a list of my priorities and review them once a week to make sure that I'm staying focused.
My Dedication: If I ever perform poorly on a class project or an exam, I will talk to my teacher to discuss what I have not mastered and learn what I can do to do better the next time. If available, I will complete additional work to obtain extra credit.
My Preparation for College: I will join at least 1 club or extracurricular activity in my freshman or sophomore year.
My Preparation for College: I will sign up to take at least 1 honors class in my freshman or sophomore year.
My Preparation for College: I will sign up in my sophomore year for available advanced placement courses that interest me.
My Preparation for College I will sign up at Collegeboard.com, or a similar resource, to learn about the steps I must take to prepare for college admission.
