HIGH SCHOOL Students
MISSION: The W. E. B. Du Bois Society aims to make high academic achievement as attractive among black youth as high achievement in athletics and entertainment. We accomplish this through programs and initiatives that transform black students' perceptions of the importance of doing well in school and by cultivating lifelong champions for educational opportunity.
DESCRIPTION: The WEB, a program of the Du Bois Society, is a network of highly motivated, top performing African American high school students of diverse economic backgrounds, geographies, and interests. Selected students called W.E.B. Du Bois Scholars, become part of a network of like-minded students who meet new people and experience fun activities while preparing for college, leadership role and life. Du Bois Scholars acquire community service hours helping their peers as tutors, writing feature stories, and as workshop presenters at an annual conference.

Interested students must also be highly motivated, possess a curiosity about learning, and a desire to meet new people.
ADMISSIONS: Applicants are highly encouraged to submit the completed application early. Admission to The WEB is selective and competitive.
