Etienne R. LeGrand - President & Director

Prior to founding the W.E.B. Du Bois Society, Etienne was a strategic marketing and communications consultant where she developed community relations strategies and conducted market research, analysis, and strategy for organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies to national non-profits.

Previously, Etienne directed Women's Initiative for Self Employment, a recognized Bay Area women's development non-profit. During her leadership, she expanded the organization's net assets, product lines, and the markets in which the organization operated. The agency won numerous honors, including the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation's Entrepreneurship Educator Award and awards from the U.S. Small Business Administration, among others. Etienne honed her skills working in the private and public sectors in the financial services, business and economic development, and children's policy arenas.

Etienne holds an M.B.A. from Northeastern University's Graduate School of Business.
